Privacy policy
A site about trust should be easy to trust with your data. Our approach is simple: collect almost nothing, and never collect anything about your health. Last updated 4 July 2026.
Who we are
Trusted Weight Loss ("we", "us") publishes price comparisons and safety information about weight-loss treatment providers at trustedweightloss.co.uk. For anything in this policy, contact hello@trustedweightloss.co.uk.
What we collect
- Nothing you don't send us. This is a static information site. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no questionnaires. We do not ask for — and do not want — any information about your weight, health, medication or eligibility. Those conversations belong with a prescriber, not a website.
- Email, if you write to us. If you contact us we'll hold your email address and message for as long as needed to deal with it (and to keep a record of scam reports and corrections). We don't add you to any mailing list and we don't share your details with providers.
- A theme preference, on your device. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and we can't see it.
- Basic analytics, if enabled. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views and see which guides are read. Where analytics run, they are configured without cross-site tracking, and any provider we use is named here.
What happens when you click out
When you follow a link to a provider, the provider may know you arrived from our site. Once you leave trustedweightloss.co.uk, the provider's own privacy policy applies — and because they will be handling genuine medical information, it's worth actually reading. We never pass any information to a provider about you, because we never hold any.
Legal basis and your rights
Where we process personal data (in practice: your emails to us), we do so on the basis of legitimate interest — running the site, correcting errors, and keeping a record of scam reports. Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to our processing. Email us and we'll act on any of these promptly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Data security and retention
Correspondence is held in a standard, access-controlled email account and deleted when it is no longer needed. Scam reports may be kept longer, in anonymised form, because patterns across reports are how warnings get written. We hold no databases of user information because we build none.
Changes
If our practices change — for example, if we adopt a specific analytics provider — this page will be updated before the change takes effect, with the date above revised.
